What a wonderful voice. My lady and I went to Hawaii in September last year and Iz's music makes me want to go back.

I heard a few notes this "Over the rainbow song" during a quick zap on Tv. I saw "IZ" and I had my laptop beside me... I'm a musician... I was like: Hey it's soung really good that l'et me check in google IZ... Video... and the song... WOW... This is a Masterpiece! I check the title then i see it's a old song from Judy Garland The Wizzard Oz Movie 1938!!! Then I think Sinatra... I check other star versions... I can say this: The "IZ" version is the very best version ever of this song... Of course I understood that he died as I could see it at the end in one of the video in youtube... This wicked song was recorded in 1993 ! It's a lot of surprises at the same time. I' m sure that the world has missed this person becoming one of the famoust singer on earth... tied to Elvis Presley. And i'm not kidding... I'm pissed of that there is so many bad singer that are well known and that we miss this kind of stuff... that is unforgivable.... Grand Monsieur.... God Bless you Iz!!!

This guy has a great voice, the first time I heard him singing was just the other day, I will pass on this web site to others and I will be buying some of hid discs. His music goes straight to the heart & soul of the listener, absolutley fantastic.

I've only just discovered Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and am saddend by the thought that there will be no more music coming from this amazing man. He has a beautiful voice. I purchased his CD on a whim in Hawaii and have since purchase three more. Listening to his music relaxes me, and even though I don't know or understand the words, I find myself humming his music and feeling happy.

I do not understand almost nothing to the songs but it's really beautiful, IZ was and remains a voice of an angel in this world of evil and suffering. I am truely sorry. I was listening to Pandora and Over the Rainbow came on. I thought I had never heard that song before. Something in IZ's voice made me cry, then I looked up his bio. The song hit me even harder then. My Mom told me more about IZ and I am so sad...

3 years ago on my way to Hawaii I heard his music in Hawaiian airlines and from that moment i became fascinated with his songs. and i love when i was at Hard Rock Kona listening "somwhere over the rainbow" and "what a wonderful world "in my ipod with my son and wife while watching sunset off the Kona coast. Brudda IZ's music and Hawaii are perfect combination. so, when you are in Hawaii don't forget Brudda IZ serenade your heart and soul with his music.

hello to all IZ fans 1997 i was on honeymoon for 4 weeks on hawaii islands. the best thing i have heard, was IZ on radio cannels. the music was great and amazing. therefore i spend a lot of our dollars and bought "IZ in concert". In the last 13 years i often heard the music of IZ in my home. In this time the german publicity did not knew IZ (Who's that?? Where is he from??...and so on, and so on....nowbodoy knews him in germany......) Now i'm glad to hear IZ almost every day in german radio cannels....IZ arrived germany with his rainbow.....I'm happy about that...the music is in our hearts forever!! greatings to all IZ fans Harald

I was born on Oahu an raised in Makaha just pass the beach on Makau St. I remember seeing Iz playin his Ukulele at Makaha Beach when he was about 12 years old. Everytime I passed by him with my skim board he would say AaaaaaHowzit!

Hello, I have to say that I have never heard from IZ before 2010. (What a shame) But his version of "Over the rainbow" toched my heart and it does everytime when it is played on the radio. I can listen to his gentle voice again and again and there is something so easy in his voice that you can close your eyes and dream whatever you like to dream of... it`s incredible.

I first listened to his music in 1998 during a 3 week visit in Hawai'i. I was hooked to the Hawaiian music, specially to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's. I cried, when I found out, that he had alaready passed. His music has touched me in a way, I can not find word words for. I wished so much, that I could have see him "in concert" here or in Hawai'i - so, I'm searching now for a CD-set of all his work, like "Limited Edition" - have no idea, if that is available at all, but would be great. R I P, Israel. some of those days I will be able to hear you live.

Recently I went to my husbands cousin wedding it was at Melbourne Beach Florida and they play "White sand beach" and "Over the rainbow" and I loved both songs but didn't know who was the singer until today. Love Israel's voice! But at the same time to find out 13 years later that this man with such a beautiful voice and songs is dead made me cry so much. I'm also obese and to know that he died from was obesity problems makes me think that if I don't take care of myself I could die too. I'm so sorry to his family that have lost such an incredible husband and father and to all his fans. I am a Jehovahs Witness and thanks to Jehovah God I have learned thru the Bible His promise that in the near future we will see our love ones that have passed away again. My husband and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary by visiting Hawaii for the first time. Our tour guide to the Polynesian Center introduced us to IZ music. I have purchased two albums of IZ and listen as often as possible. It is sad IZ life was so short, but his music will live on forever........... Thank you!!!

Ich danke ihm von Herzen für diese Erfahrung und finde es so schade, das ich ihn nicht mehr life erleben kann. Ich liebe die mauische Lebensweise - bin voll mit Tataus (Tatoos) von Tahiti und den Marqueesas - und Hawai´i und die Hawai´ianer sind polynesischen Ursprungs - so wie Tahiti .... also trage ich eine kleines (oder großes) Teil davon immer mit mir herum - am ganzen Körper sind Zeichen für Wellen und Meer und Fische und Schildkröten und das Leben, das Sterben - das Weiterleben... auch über diese Dinge singt er - in seiner Sprache - ich finde es wundervoll. Much more spiritual than most music I hear, and I have worked in a church for 23 years. What an amazing voice and the gift with which he sang. This song, and I am sure many of his others, will touch future generations as well as those lucky enough to come across it. God bless IZ for using and sharing his massive talent. It appears it was as big as he was. What a great role model, especially being such a big guy. The gentleness that comes across is undeniable. I am blessed to have heard it. Happiness and joy to his family.

I have listened to this amazing voice for many days now. It is very difficult not to crack a smile when listing to Israel. If only everyone in the world listened to one of his songs every day, I think the world would be a much nicer place. Thank you for your wonderful music.

Habe diesen wunderbaren Sänger durch einen Link unserer Tochter Finja kennengelernt. Mein Mann und ich sind von dieser Musik total begeisert. Wie schafft es jemand mit diesem Gewicht, so eine hervorragende Stimme zu haben? Er war in Hawai eine Legende, hat als Nichtpolitiker ein Staatsbegräbnis/bzw. Ehrung bekommen. 10 000 Tausende sind zu seiner Beisetzung am/ und auf dem Meer gewesen. Was für ein Mann!! Vorm schlafen gehen hören wir jetzt immer einige seiner Titel.
